The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 7: A Way Back

The archangel summons Angel away on urgent business, and Episode 7 leaves William exposed. He waits alone by a window while every demon in the hall stares at the human. Then Asmodea saunters over in black leather. Look who is out of bed. Tonight is still on, she reminds him, so he had better not make her come looking. She leans in close, catches a scent of feathers, and her smile vanishes. The demoness knows.

Angel returns with golden marks on her legs and a bombshell. The archangel dug up old chronicles, and there is a way to send William back to Earth. 'Back? I'm dead.' There is a ritual, she says, and she will explain it in the ward. Asmodea purrs that she would not miss it. By his bed, Angel finally drops the catch: William goes home alive, but both of his guardians will pay a price.
