The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 1: Dead and Wanted

Ten years of loyalty, and William Jones gets handed a cardboard box and shown the door. The real scandal waits at home: he opens the bedroom door and catches his girlfriend tangled in the sheets with another man. No screaming, no thrown vases. William simply turns around and walks into the rain, jobless and homeless, replaying every mistake and wishing he could wake up as somebody else.

Careful what you wish for. Headlights flare, and the night ends hard. When William comes to, his skull is pounding and he's sprawled in a stone hall lined with empty beds. Standing over him are two women who could not be more opposite: a horned demoness poured into black leather and a pale angel with white wings. Their verdict lands like a headline: 'We're your guardians, William.' Episode 1 of The Only Mortal in Heaven turns one wrecked night into the strangest second act imaginable.
